Read Thoroughly Prior to Registration

  • Click "BOOK NOW" (TOP of page) to schedule an 'On-Demand" class Saturdays/Sundays. This must be scheduled one month in advance.

CLASS DESCRIPTION

  • This is an official American Heart Association (AHA) Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) BLENDED class.
  • Students will claim their ecard through the AHA website, https://ecards.heart.org/student/myecards. Certifications are available immediately after successful completion of class.
  • A BLS check-off is included in this class.
  • Students must complete approximately 4 hours of online work prior to the required skill class (details below). The skills component is scheduled to be approximately 4 hours long. If the student needs more than 4 hours to show proficiency, they will be asked to reschedule for remediation by emailing CPRmobile.me@gmail.com.

1. REGISTER

  • Use the student's EXACT NAME and EMAIL to assign the certification.
  • The student will receive a registration email; please review this email so you understand what preparation is required prior to class.

2. PAYMENT

After registration, you will be taken to a payment page.

3. STUDY

  • This is an advanced course that requires significant investment from the student. Coming to class unprepared may result in the need for additional remediation and rescheduling fees.
  • Read your 2020 AHA PALS Provider Manual.
  • BRING YOUR 2020 AHA Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) MANUAL TO CLASS.
  • To see the testing criteria, refer to the appendix of your 2020 Provider Manual.

4. REQUIRED ONLINE WORK FOR PALS

  1. REQUIRED: AHA PALS PreCourse Work/Videos. This content is unlocked after successful completion of the PreCourse Self-Assessment (there is no direct URL).

Expect to spend about ~4 hours with this online work

Remember, this online work is not meant to be the sole method of preparation; students are also expected to study their 2020 AHA PALS Provider Manual. This is an advanced class that requires more than just a few hours of studying.

5. IN-PERSON SESSION

  • Bring your 2020 AHA PALS Provider Manual.
  • Arrive 10 minutes early to ensure you are not late (doors may lock at the start of class).
  • Students who are prepared for class will finish within the 4 hour class. Download your classroom requirements HERE (refresh the page if it doesn't load).
  • If you are not prepared for class (i.e., if you don't know your rhythms/medications/etc prior to class), you likely will not finish class and will be asked to self-study for two weeks prior to participating in another class.
  • AHA PALS + BLS certifications issued immediately after successful completion of class.
  • DO NOT COME TO CLASS IF YOU ARE SICK - just ask to reschedule.

REMEDIATION

Insufficient self-preparation often results in the need for remediation. If the student is not able to demonstrate proficiency by the AHA standards, the student will not be issued a certification and there will be no refund. The instructor will provide the student a checklist of proficiency criteria that need remediation.

  • The student is expected to self-study for a minimum of 2 weeks prior to attempting another class.
  • The student must re-complete both online components.
  • The student can remediate for free if they are willing to be put on a waiting list (class is capped at 4 students). If they want a guaranteed seat, they will need to resubmit payment.
