Read Thoroughly Prior to Registration

1. REGISTRATION

  • "BOOK NOW" to schedule an 'On-Demand" class Saturdays/Sundays. These must be scheduled one month out.

  • "UPCOMING SCHEDULE" to register for a pre-scheduled class. Registration closes 7 days prior to class.

2. TWO REQUIRED ONLINE COMPONENTS (free)

This is a Blended class and requires TWO free online components prior to the skills portion.

Do NOT purchase a "HEARTCODE" module.

  1. Complete the AHA PALS PreCourse Self-Assessment (50-question quiz). This is very similar to the exam you will take in class.

  2. Complete the AHA PALS PreCourse Work/Videos. Completing the Self-Assessment unlocks this step; there is no direct URL. This portion is adaptive; expect to spend about 4 hours on it.

  3. Access your certificate by logging into your elearning account at https://elearning.heart.org.

  4. Email a copy of your certificate to CPRmobile.me@gmail.com.

Remember, the online work is not meant to be the sole method of preparation; students are also expected to review their 2020 Provider Manual. This is an advanced class that requires more than just a few hours of studying.

5. IN-PERSON SESSION

  • Bring your 2020 AHA PALS Provider Manual.

  • Arrive 10 minutes early to ensure you are not late (doors may lock at the start of class).

  • Students who are prepared for class should finish within the 5 hour class. Download your classroom requirements HERE (refresh the page if it doesn't load). If you are not prepared for class, you may have to come back to another in-person session (remediation).

  • Know your rhythms, medications, and algorithms PRIOR to class. If you are not prepared for class, you likely will not finish class and will be asked to self-study for two weeks prior to participating in another class.

  • AHA PALS + BLS certifications issued immediately after successful completion of class.

REMEDIATION

This is an intensive class. Insufficient self-preparation often results in the need for remediation. If the student is not able to demonstrate proficiency by the AHA standards, the student will not be issued a certification and there will be no refund. The instructor will provide the student a checklist of proficiency criteria that need remediation.

  • The student is expected to self-study for a minimum of 2 weeks prior to attempting another class.

  • The student must re-complete both online components.

  • The student can remediate for free if they are willing to be put on a waiting list (class is capped at 4 students). If they want a guaranteed seat, they will need to resubmit payment.
