My name is Maria Wiltscheck, instructor of daily CPR classes at The Commerce Center, 1099 Gum Branch Rd, Jacksonville, NC 28540. • This is an official American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers class. This is a BLENDED class, and an online component must be completed prior to class (instructions below). Your final certificate will not differentiate between "blended" vs "traditional/in-person" classes

• Plan to arrive at least 10 minutes early. Doors lock at the start of class. Late arrivals will be rescheduled.

• Do not come to class if you are sick or do not feel well. Please ask to reschedule at least 2 hours prior to class.

• ONLY PARTICIPATING/PAYING STUDENTS ALLOWED IN CLASSROOM. Do not bring your child(ren) unless they are considered student(s).

• Class duration is subject to variability based on students' prior experience and class size. AHA requires Traditional classes to be allotted 4.5 hours, and Blended (HeartCode) classes to be allotted 2.5 hours. I respect that different people may show proficiency faster/slower than others, and I will do my best to accommodate both types of students!

INSTRUCTIONS

1. Purchase ($38) and complete the required online component through the AHA website: https://shopcpr.heart.org/heartcode-bls.

2. Email a copy of your HeartCode certificate to CPRmobile.me@gmail.com PRIOR to class. To view your HeartCode certificate, log into AHA's website at https://elearning.heart.org/ and click on "My Courses". Be sure to complete the survey in order to access your certificate.

REGISTRATION

• Provide EXACT STUDENT NAME, VALID EMAIL ADDRESS, and PHONE NUMBER to be applied to the certification.

• Read the "terms and conditions" as you check the box during registration. By registering, all students agree that they understand the class policies.

NOTIFICATION SCHEDULE - students will receive approximately 4-5 emails and texts. These are meant to help students get to class on-time and remind them when their card will expire in 2 years.

1) Registration email containing a copy of class date/time/location/requirements/waiver/payment information.

2) 24-hour class reminder

3) 2-hour class reminder (deadline to reschedule)

4) Certification email after class

5) Reminder to renew your card 3 months prior to your expiration date.

Text messages are automated - you cannot "reply" to them.

PAYMENT/CHECKOUT

• Payment reserves your seat in a capped class, ensures class remains scheduled, reserves a room, and ensures your instructor is available. For this reason, ALL REFUNDS ARE DONE AS CLASS CREDIT towards the email associated with CPR Mobile. If you need to reschedule, please email CPRmobile.me@gmail.com at least 2 hours prior to class.

DISABILITIES

Some students find CPR to be strenuous. In order to obtain certification, AHA requires students to perform a minimum of about two minutes (5 cycles) of high-quality CPR on a high-fidelity manikin. These manikins give students real-time audio-visual feedback to ensure objective fulfillment of compression tempo and depth. Students are allowed to take the manikin to any level they feel comfortable with (i.e., on a table with a step-stool provided or on the ground).

Do not register for class if you have any doubt of your physical abilities to perform CPR. If you are pregnant or recovering from an injury, please take this into consideration. The physical requirements of CPR are not waived under any circumstances.
