However, a $30 REFUNDABLE deposit is required to reserve your seat. This deposit is designed to ensure we have a decent turnout (your instructor needs to be monitored every 2 years and we can't do this on an empty class). Your deposit will be refunded at the start of class.
By registering for this class, the student and payer acknowledge and agree to all certification, performance, and payment requirements described below. The student will sign THIS WAIVER during registration, but prior to payment.
Please send an email if you have any questions!
1) Scroll to the bottom of this page and then click the REGISTER button.
Provide EXACT STUDENT NAME and VALID STUDENT EMAIL ADDRESS to be applied to the certification. This creates a student account through CPR Mobile's website. Students can log in to this website to manage their registration.
- If you've already registered through the American Heart Association (AHA) website, you will still need to re-register through this (CPR Mobile's) website; CPR Mobile hosts the class and will issue certifications.
- Students will receive an automated registration email and text with further details for class. Email/text reminders are sent out 1-day and 1-hour prior to class. This personal information is used for appointment reminders, certification information, and follow-up emails only. This personal contact information is not used for any other reason, nor is it distributed/sold to other parties; please provide contact information you will remember to check.
- COMPANIES: Ensure the student's inbox can receive emails from "cprmobile.me@gmail.com" as well as "notify@messages.offeringtree.com".
THIS IS A FREE AHA BLS CLASS. However, a $30 REFUNDABLE deposit is required to reserve your seat. This deposit is designed to ensure we have a decent turnout (your instructor needs to be monitored and we can't do this on an empty class). Your deposit will be refunded at the start of class.
- Reserving your seat with payment prevents other students from taking your seat in a class with capped attendance. It also guarantees the class will take place with low enrollment.
- The student/registrant will sign THIS WAIVER reiterating the 3-day (72 hour) cancelation policy during registration, but prior to payment.
- FULL REFUNDS are given if the student requests a cancelation >72 hours prior to class. Students can manually cancel their own registration through their online CPR Mobile account, or they can email CPR Mobile to request a cancelation.
- No refunds when canceling within 3 days of class.
This is an official American Heart Association (AHA) class. Certification is for Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers. Immediately after successful completion of class, the student will be able to access their digital certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) website.
100% IN-PERSON. No Online Component.
- Ages: adult, child, and infant
- Single-rescuer and multiple rescuer response
- Identifying and managing Cardiac Arrest and Respiratory Arrest
- Pediatric Respiratory Failure
- Special Considerations: Maternal Cardiac Arrest, Opioid-Associated Life-Threatening Emergencies, Advanced Airway
- Team Dynamics
- Chest Compression Fraction (CCF)
- Responsive Choking
- Unresponsive Choking
- Students watch instructional videos regarding each specific topic.
- Engaging classroom discussion solidifies knowledge required for the final exam.
- Students choose their own teams and practice skills using peer-to-peer real-time corrective feedback. Students learn to function as individual responders and as part of a group.
- Manikins with feedback devices help students find the correct compression tempo and depth.
- Real-time practice scenarios offer adequate time for students to develop confidence and skills prior to scenario tests.
To receive certification, AHA requires students to perform skills to a standard that demonstrates proficiency. Please review all physical and cognitive performance requirements below.
Performing CPR is physically demanding. All students must demonstrate the required skills for class. There are NO EXCEPTIONS to the physical and cognitive requirements.
Students should not register for class if they feel they are unable to perform 2 minutes of high-quality compressions on an adult manikin. Inability to perform high-quality CPR for the designated requirement will result in NO CERTIFICATION and no refund.
Students must demonstrate high-quality compressions, high-quality ventilations with a bag-mask device, and cognitive understanding and application of BLS skills during cardiac and respiratory arrest in a single-rescuer and multi-rescuer team.
- ADULT Compressions: perform 2 minutes of 30 high-quality compressions, 2" deep with full recoil, at a rate of 100-120 beats per minute. Manikins give real-time objective feedback.
- ADULT Ventilations: After each set up 30 compressions, provide 2 effective ventilations in under 10 seconds, then return to compressions. Students may use a bag-valve mask and/or pocket mask. Each breath should be given over 1 second and create an appropriately-sized chest rise on the manikin.
- INFANT Compressions: 15 (multiple-rescuer) or 30 (individual-rescuer) high-quality compressions, 1-1/2" deep with full recoil, at a rate of 100-120 beats per minute.
- INFANT Ventilations: After each set of 15 or 30 compressions, provide 2 effective ventilations in under 10 seconds, then return to compressions. Students may use a bag-valve mask and/or pocket mask. Each breath should be given over 1 second and create an appropriately-sized chest rise on the manikin.
- AED for Adult and Infant: student must turn on the trainer AED and then follow audible and visual prompts, apply pads correctly, ensure safety of all participants via effective communication, and leave AED and pads on for the duration of the scenario.
- Adult Rescue Breathing: 1 breath every 6 seconds
- Child Rescue Breathing: 1 breath every 3 seconds
- Infant Rescue Breathing: 1 breath every 2 seconds
If the child/infant has a pulse of less than 60 beats per minute, with signs of poor perfusion despite adequate oxygenation, begin CPR.
- INFANT: Repeated sets of 5 back slaps followed by 5 chest thrusts until infant goes unresponsive
- ADULT/CHILD: Abdominal and/or chest thrusts until person goes unresponsive
- Immediately start CPR, starting with compressions. Visually check the airway before giving breaths.
- Students must pay attention to all videos played during class.
- Students must be able to integrate verbal feedback from instructor into the scenario practiced on a manikin.
- Students must be able to identify and treat cardiac arrest and respiratory failure/respiratory arrest.
- Students must answer 21 out of 25 questions correctly on the final exam (verbal, written, or electronic). The class is purposefully designed to prepare the student for the final exam. All 25 questions will be prepared for verbally throughout the duration of class; the final exam should feel like a summary of what you have already learned and practiced.
The American Heart Association strongly promotes knowledge and proficiency in BLS, ACLS, and PALS and has developed instructional material for this purpose. Use of these materials in an education course does not represent course sponsorship by the American Heart Association. Any fees charged for such a course, except for a portion of fees needed for AHA course material, do not represent income to the Association.
CPR MOBILE WILL PROVIDE STUDENTS WITH A PROVIDER MANUAL TO BE USED IN CLASS.
The AHA states that students must own a 2020 AHA Provider Manual for the discipline of certification. AHA states the book must be available to the student before, during, and after class. Please bring your provider manual (printed or electronic) to class. The book you use during class is also available for purchase for $20.
- This facility has bathrooms in close proximity to class.
- Bottled water and soda are offered in the classroom at no extra charge. Any drinks placed on the student's table must have a secure lid to prevent spillage when tipped. No snacks allowed on the student's table.
